Expanses
Never ended up calling you up
Didn’t even enter your number in my phone
Never ended up dropping by
When you were down and out and all alone
Never ended up sending you that text
What is this distant sphere
That prevents us from sharing our needs?
We try to interact, but it keeps on
Pulling us back
How will expanses recede?
Never ended up on the bus,
Didn’t wanna walk the extra mile
Never ended up on the ferry, over to the island
Too busy washing out ashore
Never ended up packing it all up,
Couldn’t even find a box
Never ended making my way out the door
Couldn’t even get my feet off the floor
What is this distant sphere
That prevents us from sharing our needs?
We try to interact, but it keeps on
Pulling us back
How will expanses recede?
Never ended up boarding the flight;
I didn’t arrive on time
Never ended up becoming a long distance traveler
Couldn’t handle all the delays
Never ended up in outer space
Couldn’t handle the gravimetric shift
Never ended wishing on that shooting star
I’d rather hop in my car
What is this distant sphere
That prevents us from sharing our needs?
We try to interact, but it keeps on
Pulling us back…
How will expanses recede?

Bitten Off

Bitten Off
Wound up biting off a little more than I could chew
All my critics know exactly what they’d do
Paranoid allusions that ignite a desire
While you’re laughing at the incessant liar
Found myself searching null and void of the truth
Present reality turns itself into a spoof
If the future finds a way out again
It’ll be laughing as you lift your pen
Catapult your bleeding heart beyond
To become inflated
Ego reasons with no one
Movin’ backwards lately
Living out here on our own
Bitter compliments bemoan the fact that we are all alone
If we make it, who’s it for?
Candour lasting as we’re closing every last and final door
Wound up slicing off the biggest piece of the pie
Every monarch has its own time to die
Bookish hermits wriggle lithe and secure
Bacchanalists wish for something pure
Found the aging infant lying cold on the ground
My only wish was the she’s safe and sound
Moments of trauma make life real again
But they’re laughing as you lift the pen
Catapult your bleeding heart beyond
To become inflated
Ego reasons with no one
Movin’ backwards lately
Living out here on our own
Bitter compliments bemoan the fact that we are all alone
If we make it, who’s it for?
Candour lasting as we’re closing every last and final door

Invictus

Invictus
The weather is changing
In both extremes
Storms have been brewing
These nightmarish dreams
The forecaster taunts us
With visions untrue
They tell us the sky is
Blood red not blue
If walking it off is
Is the next best advice
Pairing each homeless heart
Like a roll of the dice
For fear of the waking dead
As they wrap at the door
You’ve startled and taken flight
Not oft to ignore
Wicked games playing out
The cruelest offence
Poking and prodding
Jokes at your expense
Package the remains
In morbid toupees
She’s hidden the damage
Underneath the fray
Ponder to bitter men
An art with no deal;
Women must lead us
Toward logic and feel
Our thoughts and our prayers
That leave us confused
The message, the mission
The Rhythm, The Blues
Elvis and Joni, Dylan, St. Vincent
Become the next icon
Prodigious completest
Otis, Aretha, Santana and Lauryn
The future resides
With all equal voices
Paying attention
Past the trends of correctness;
Will clearer minds prevail
When rights are observed with invictus
Convict us with invictus
Convict us with conviction
Convict us with invictus
Convict us with our conviction

Forever

Forever
You’re so new to me, and yet I feel like
I’ve known you all these years
And as old as that sounds, I don’t care
These feelings have never been so real
My heart butterflies, when I’m around you
It feels so warm, beside you
If I could hold you forever
Everything would be alright
If I could hold you forever
Everything would be alright
You’re so beautiful, when you smile
So precious from afar
I think of you for hours, (yeah, yeah)
I’m losin’ sleep over you
My heart butterflies, when I’m around you
It feels so warm, beside you
If I could hold you forever
Everything would be alright
If I could hold you forever
Everything would be alright
Why can’t you see
You’re the light of my day?
Why can’t you be here
Forever?
Why can’t you see
You’re the light of my day?
Why can’t you be here
Forever?
Everyday…
Everyday…
Every, Every, Every, Every, Everyday….
Everyday…

Something

Something
Something about the way your voice soothes me
Something about the way this air disproves me
Something about the way this moment grooves me
Something about the way your love moves me
You’re the song that lifts me in the darkest hour
You’re the shelter through the endless storm
When I listen to my heart it fools me
Competes for attention I just can’t give it
Something about the way this moment deceives me
Something about the way this error completes me
You’re the beauty of the briar and the rose
You’re the spring that’s laughing through the cold and snow
Give it another try,
Give it…Another try…
It’s fading
Something about the way your voice it soothes me
Something about the the way your love moves me
Something about the way you choose me
Something about the way it all consumes me
You’re the vision that brings comfort to my dreams
You’re the clarity that helps me realize
If there is a way to bring this moment back
I’m gonna try
I’m gonna try

If The Walls

If the Walls (Fall Down)
Many years ago, when we had it all put together
You were the one who couldn’t be bothered to fix anything at all
When hopelessness becomes, an echo of your future’s past
An echo to nothing, you retreat into another void
And the walls all fall down
Keep on…
And the living hearts do bleed, we’re all looking to survive
When we all become lost, lost to the wind
And our reckless souls do plead, as we begin to realize
That we all become lost, lost to the wind…
Keep on
Keep…on…….
When your ship has come adrift, and you’re sinking into the sea
Grab what you can, a lifeboat is waiting on the edge
As we all fall in
And the living hearts do bleed, we’re all looking to survive
When we all become lost, lost to the wind
And our reckless souls do plead, as we begin to realize
That we all become lost, lost to the wind…
Whisper…
Sweetly…
Where are you now? We can’t even seem to communicate or relate
There is a bridge that can be crossed if we only care to see
And it all falls down

Thoughtless Times

Thoughtless Times
When thoughtless times cure my mind
I remember star-crossed days
A place in line with hopes I find
We are lost to hardened ways
The picture pure but fading fast
Leaves a hole that’s near and real
In its absence we are left
Without a need to feel
At moments passed a memory lasts
To take away the faded day
A dream unending grew too fast
Broke our soul, No More to Say
The picture pure but fading fast
Leaves a hole that’s near and real
In its absence we are left
Without a need to feel
The songs we sing good thoughts to bring
I saw no end in sight
The show without a queen or king
A light burned all too bright

Quantum Generations

Quantum Generations
Walked out to winter
Exit into spring
Wonder about summer
You’re fallin’ again
When you’ve lost all important thought
All that sustains comes undone
And you become, a shadow
Whisper,
Scream out the name
Chant forever
An echo lost in time
In a canyon elevated
Streams flow apart
Quantum generations
You forgo reparation

Grain Elevator

Grain Elevator
Stood outside the storehouse
Climbed up the ladder
After the fog had dissipated
At the top of the ladder, looking out amongst the whole town
I saw everything as it should be
And the wilting flower, in your hands, became laughter astray
Up on top of the ladder, looking for something unpredictable
While you try to not to care a little bit sometimes
Quote another quote, off the spray painted walls
Tell another joke at your expense
No one lasts forever, nothing is for long
And the hope that’s in your eyes, is faded
Looking out from on top of the grain elevator
I fell down five stories
Fell with my face to the ground
I broke three vertebrae, and cracked two ribs
But the burning bush broke my fall
My soul on fire, as you’re left to die
